II am a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin in Classics. I study all aspects of Roman archaeology but I am particularly interested in Latin graffiti, Pompeii, domestic architecture, spatial theory, and ancient horsemanship.
My dissertation looks at the graffiti from the secluded places in Pompeian houses. I compare the graffiti distributions using several scientific and archaeological analyses. These comparisons will determine the efficacy of these types of analyses on graffiti. Further, my work will help elucidate the distribution of graffiti within the Pompeian house and the nature of graffiti writing in the ancient world more generally.
